Triethylenetetramine (TETA) is hygroscopic, corrosive, and has a strong ammoniacal odor. With water a crystalline hydrate is formed. Triethylenetetramine appears as a yellowish liquid. Less dense than water. Combustible, though may be difficult to ignite. Corrosive to metals and tissue.

Used as a curing agent for epoxy resins; in oil additives for lubrication; in chelating agents for metals; in surfactants and detergents; in adhesives and coatings; in asphalt additives.

Reacts vigorously with oxidizers and alkalis; causes burns to eyes, skin, respiratory; acute/chronic hazards from exposure; use PPE, ventilate areas.

Store in cool, dry places; keep tightly closed; dispose per local regulations.
