Fish Oil
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Fish Oil is a complex lipid mixture derived from the tissues of fatty fish, characterized by a high concentration of Omega-3 Fatty Acids. It is typically processed into Refined Grade or Crude Oil formats, depending on whether it is intended for human consumption or livestock feed applications.
The product is valued for its high caloric density and the presence of essential nutrients like EPA and DHA in their natural triglyceride form. It undergoes molecular distillation to remove heavy metals and environmental pollutants, ensuring a Low Peroxide Value and high chemical stability for industrial use.
In large-scale applications, Fish Oil serves as a primary source of Essential Fatty Acids that cannot be synthesized by the body. It is a critical component in the production of high-performance aquaculture feeds and premium pet food products where palatability and nutrition are paramount.
Fish Oil
APPLICATIONS
- Aquaculture Feed: Used as a vital energy source and growth promoter in salmonid and shrimp diets to mirror their natural marine nutrient intake
- Animal Nutrition: Added to poultry and swine rations to improve reproductive performance and enhance the fatty acid profile of the resulting meat or eggs.
- Dietary Supplements: Serves as the raw material for the extraction of concentrated Omega-3 oils or as a bulk oil for liquid nutritional products.
SAFETY & RISKS
Fish Oil is generally recognized as safe but presents a Combustion Risk if soaked into porous insulation or rags due to auto-oxidation. Standard PPE including safety shoes and oil-resistant gloves should be worn to prevent slips and skin contact during bulk handling.
