Calcium Molybdate is a High-Purity white crystalline powder utilized primarily as a corrosion inhibitor and smoke suppressant. It is valued for its low water solubility, providing long-lasting protection in coatings and lubricants.

The material serves as a specialized industrial lubricant additive, improving the load-bearing capacity of greases in automotive applications. It is an environmentally safer alternative to chromate-based corrosion inhibitors in metal finishing.

This inorganic salt also finds use in the production of molybdenum-containing alloys and specialty glass. Its thermal stability makes it an excellent choice for high-temperature refractory applications and ceramic glazes.

Calcium Molybdate
  • Corrosion Inhibitive Pigments: Formulated into primers and coatings for the protection of steel and aluminum surfaces.
  • Flame Retardancy: Acts as a smoke suppressant in plastic and rubber compounds for automotive interiors.
  • Catalysis: Used as a catalyst precursor in the chemical processing of petroleum and petrochemicals.

Generally classified as Low Toxicity, but inhalation of dust should be avoided. Use N95 Dust Masks and Protective Gloves during handling to prevent respiratory and skin irritation.
