Diacetone Acrylamide (DAAM) is a specialized Purity 99.5% vinyl monomer used primarily as a cross-linking agent in water-based polymer emulsions. This Crystalline Grade monomer introduces reactive carbonyl groups into polymer chains, enabling room-temperature curing.

When paired with hydrazide crosslinkers, DAAM enables the formulation of high-performance coatings with excellent water and chemical resistance. It is highly soluble in water and organic solvents, facilitating easy integration into various polymerization processes.

This monomer is prized for improving the adhesion, hardness, and durability of acrylic and vinyl acetate emulsions. It is a critical component for modern, eco-friendly waterborne architectural paints and wood coatings.

Diacetone Acrylamide (DAAM)
  • Waterborne Coatings: Enables room-temperature crosslinking in self-crosslinking acrylic emulsions for wood and metal.
  • Textile Finishing: Used to improve the wash-fastness and mechanical strength of textile treatment resins.
  • Adhesives: Enhances the cohesive strength and bonding properties of pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs).

Classified as Acute Tox 4. May cause skin irritation. Handle with Safety Glasses, Nitrile Gloves, and ensure Local Exhaust Ventilation.
