Polytetramethylene Ether Glycol (PTMEG) is a high-performance Polymer Grade polyether polyol available in various molecular weights (e.g., 650, 1000, 2000). Offering High Chemical Stability, it is the critical soft segment for high-performance polyurethanes.

This waxy white solid (at room temperature) melts into a clear liquid upon heating. It is renowned for imparting superior elasticity, high tensile strength, and exceptional resistance to abrasion and fungal attack in finished polyurethane elastomers.

PTMEG-based polyurethanes exhibit excellent low-temperature performance and hydrolytic stability compared to polyester-based alternatives. It is a vital raw material for the production of Spandex fibers, high-durability wheels, and specialized medical devices.

Polytetramethylene Ether Glycol (PTMEG)
  • Spandex Fibers: The primary raw material for manufacturing elastic fibers used in high-performance sportswear and apparel.
  • Polyurethane Elastomers: Used in the production of high-load industrial wheels, rollers, and mechanical seals.
  • Specialty Coatings: Incorporated into high-performance waterborne polyurethane dispersions (PUDs) for textiles and leather.

Not classified as a hazardous substance. Standard industrial safety practices like Safety Glasses and Protective Gloves are recommended.
