CMIT is a powerful, broad-spectrum Industrial Grade biocide often used in combination with Methylisothiazolinone (MIT). It effectively controls the growth of bacteria, algae, and fungi in aqueous systems.

This preservative solution is highly effective at very low concentrations, making it an economical choice for industrial preservation. It is stable over a wide pH range and is compatible with anionic and cationic surfactants.

As a biocidal active, it prevents biofilm formation and spoilage in paints, adhesives, and cooling water systems. It provides long-lasting protection for products during storage and industrial use.

Chloromethylisothiazolinone
  • Water Treatment: Used in industrial cooling towers and paper mills to prevent microbial fouling and slime.
  • Preservation: Protects paints, emulsions, and detergents from bacterial degradation and fungal growth.
  • Personal Care: Used in rinse-off products like shampoos (typically in CMIT/MIT blends) to maintain sterility.

Classified as Skin Sensitizer (Category 1) and Corrosive. Requires Protective Coveralls, Chemical Gloves, and Eye Protection; avoid any skin contact.

Available in 25 kg Pails, 200 kg Drums, and 1000 kg IBC Tanks.
