Bromine
Used in flame retardants, pharmaceuticals, and photographic chemicals. Also applied in oilfield drilling fluids, water treatment biocides, and brominated polymers.
Highly corrosive and toxic. Fumes cause severe respiratory and eye irritation. Use only in closed systems with corrosion-resistant materials and emergency ventilation.
Supplied in 50–250 kg nickel-lined steel cylinders. Store cool, shaded, and isolated in corrosion-proof containment areas.
