Butyl acetate (C₆H₁₂O₂) is a clear, flammable ester solvent with a fruity odor. It offers excellent solvency for resins, polymers, and coatings, evaporating at a moderate rate.
Butyl Acetate
Used in paints, lacquers, adhesives, and inks for its balance of solvency and evaporation. In cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, it functions as a flavoring agent and solvent.
Highly flammable; vapors may form explosive mixtures with air. Prolonged exposure can cause dizziness. Handle with adequate ventilation and antistatic precautions.
Supplied in 180–200 kg steel drums or ISO tanks. Store in cool, ventilated areas away from heat and ignition sources.
