Tricalcium Citrate
Tricalcium citrate, also known as calcium citrate tribasic, is a white odorless powder with formula C12H10Ca3O14 and molecular weight 498.43 g/mol. It has a density of 1.8 g/cm³, decomposes above 200°C, and is slightly soluble in water (0.1 g/L at 25°C), soluble in acids forming calcium ions. Hygroscopic, it is the calcium salt of citric acid, produced by neutralization of citric acid with calcium hydroxide or carbonate; available as anhydrous or tetrahydrate forms, used as calcium source in nutrition.
