Used as a stabilizer, thickener, and film former in food, pharmaceutical, and textile applications. It enhances viscosity control in printing pastes and acts as a biodegradable matrix in controlled-release formulations.

Non-toxic and biocompatible; handled as an organic powder with dust control measures. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture to prevent loss of functionality.

Supplied in 20–25 kg paper bags with inner PE liners. Store in cool, dry areas protected from light and humidity.
