Dioctyl Maleate
Dioctyl maleate, or bis(2-ethylhexyl) maleate, is a colorless liquid with formula C20H36O4 and molecular weight 340.50 g/mol. Density 0.94 g/cm³, boiling point 211-220°C, flash point >110°C, refractive index 1.450. Insoluble in water, soluble in organics; odorless, used as plasticizer and monomer in resins.

Used as plasticizer in PVC for films and cables; comonomer in polymers for adhesives; in lubricants for viscosity; in cosmetics as emollient; in chemical synthesis for esters; in research for polymer chemistry.
Low toxicity; irritant to skin and eyes. Combustible; avoid strong oxidizers. Stable; use PPE, ventilate; no major hazards but monitor for irritation.
