Barium Nitrate
Barium nitrate (Ba(NO₃)₂) is a white crystalline oxidizing salt known for its strong oxygen-releasing capacity and high thermal stability. It decomposes upon heating, liberating oxygen and barium oxide, which makes it valuable in pyrotechnic and combustion systems.

Widely used in fireworks and signal flares to produce intense green coloration, in military applications for tracer and igniter compositions, and in glass manufacturing to improve luster and refractive index. It also serves as a laboratory reagent for sulfate testing and catalyst precursor.
An oxidizing agent that enhances combustion; avoid mixing with organics or reducing materials. Toxic if ingested and irritating to skin and eyes. Use explosion-proof ventilation and anti-static measures.
Supplied in 25–50 kg polyethylene-lined kraft bags or fiber drums. Store in a cool, dry area away from heat, fuels, and incompatible substances.
