Diisodecyl Phthalate
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Diisodecyl Phthalate (DIDP) is a high-molecular-weight General-Purpose Plasticizer used to provide long-term durability to PVC products. It is supplied in Technical Grade with a purity of 99.5% min, offering extremely low volatility.
This clear, odorless liquid is valued for its Superior Extraction Resistance and excellent electrical insulating properties. Its high thermal stability makes it the industry standard for manufacturing wire and cable insulation that must withstand high temperatures.
DIDP provides better aging resistance compared to lower phthalates, ensuring that flexible PVC parts retain their physical properties over time. It is a vital component in Automotive Undercoatings and high-performance roofing membranes.
APPLICATIONS
- Wire and Cable: Primary plasticizer for 105°C rated electrical insulation and high-performance building wire jackets.
- Automotive Sealants: Used in PVC-based underbody coatings and sealants due to its low fogging and permanence.
- Vinyl Flooring: Enhances the flexibility and wear resistance of high-traffic commercial and residential PVC flooring.
SAFETY & RISKS
Classified as Environmentally Hazardous (Aquatic Chronic 4). Handling requires the use of Safety Glasses, Nitrile Gloves, and Spill Containment Kits to prevent environmental release.
