Dioctyl Adipate
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Dioctyl Adipate (DOA) is a high-efficiency Low-Temperature Plasticizer widely used in flexible PVC and synthetic rubber. It is supplied in Technical Grade at 99.5% Purity, providing exceptional clarity and light stability.
As a light-colored, oily liquid, it offers High Flexibility at temperatures as low as -70°C, making it indispensable for cold-storage packaging. It features low viscosity and excellent compatibility with a wide range of thermoplastic resins.
DOA is frequently utilized in the production of clear food-grade cling films due to its FDA Approval for food contact. It provides superior processability and soft-hand feel in high-performance textile and leather applications.
APPLICATIONS
- Food Contact Films: The primary plasticizer for clear PVC cling wraps and food storage containers requiring cold-chain durability.
- Cold-Resistant Rubber: Used in nitrile rubber and neoprene formulations for hoses and gaskets that operate in arctic environments.
- Personal Care: Acts as a high-purity solvent and emollient in various cosmetic and skin-conditioning formulations.
SAFETY & RISKS
Generally low toxicity but classified as Environmentally Hazardous in some regions. Use standard PPE including Safety Glasses, Nitrile Gloves, and Protective Clothing.
