Used as a moisturizer in cosmetics, a sweetener in foods, and a solvent in pharmaceuticals. Industrially, it acts as a lubricant, antifreeze, and plasticizer.
Non-toxic and stable; may irritate eyes in concentrated form. Avoid overheating to prevent acrolein formation.
Delivered in 250 kg drums or IBC tanks. Store in cool, dry, ventilated conditions.
