Polyvinylpyrrolidone is a non-ionic synthetic polymer from N-vinylpyrrolidone monomers, a white hygroscopic powder forming clear aqueous solutions with excellent solubility and complexing abilities for dyes and drugs in diverse matrices.

Serves as binders in tablet granulation; in hair styling gels for hold; in wine fining for clarity; in inkjet inks for viscosity control; and in membrane filters for pore size tuning.
