Sodium Polyacrylate is generally low in toxicity but acts as a Respiratory Irritant if fine dust is inhaled. Operators should wear dust masks and safety goggles to prevent eye and lung irritation. Extreme caution is required during spills, as the material becomes dangerously slippery when wet.
