Sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP) is a white powder with formula Na5P3O10 and molecular weight 367.86 g/mol. Density 2.52 g/cm³, decomposes above 100°C; highly soluble in water forming alkaline solutions. Hygroscopic; produced by heating sodium phosphate mixtures.
