Tartrazine is a synthetic lemon yellow azo dye primarily used as a food coloring. An anionic, hydrophilic azo dye with an orange-yellow color used in fabrics, foods and cosmetics, and as a biological stain. Tartrazine is a synthetic additive with high water solubility. Tartrazine is mostly used as a colorant in the manufacture of cheese, cake, bubble gum, pudding.

Used as pigment in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and food for coloring tablets, capsules, and confectionery; in inks and paints for vibrant yellow hues; in textiles for dyeing fabrics; in plastics for coloration; in biological staining for microscopy.

May cause allergic reactions or hypersensitivity; GRAS for food use by FDA but restricted in some countries; irritant to skin and eyes; wear safety glasses with side shields (or goggles); do not cut, drill, grind or weld containers.

Available in 25kg cartons or drums with inner bags for moisture protection; store in tightly closed containers as per Carl Roth SDS to prevent contamination.
