Potassium Molybdate is a Technical Grade water-soluble salt used as a source of molybdenum and as a corrosion inhibitor. It appears as a white crystalline powder with excellent solubility in aqueous systems.

In the agricultural sector, it serves as a high-efficiency micronutrient fertilizer, essential for nitrogen fixation in legumes. It is preferred for foliar application due to its rapid uptake and high potassium content.

As a corrosion inhibitor, it is frequently used in closed-circuit cooling systems and engine antifreeze formulations. Its oxidizing properties help form a passive protective film on ferrous metal surfaces.

Potassium Molybdate
  • Agricultural Micronutrient: Provides essential molybdenum for plant enzymes, specifically nitrate reductase and nitrogenase.
  • Industrial Cooling Systems: Prevents cavitation and corrosion in multi-metal cooling loops and HVAC systems.
  • Analytical Chemistry: Used as a reagent in laboratories for the detection and determination of alkaloids.

Classified as a Skin and Eye Irritant (Category 2). Prevent exposure by using Safety Goggles, Nitrile Gloves, and Protective Clothing in industrial environments.
