Phosphorus Pentoxide is an extremely powerful Technical Grade dehydrating agent and chemical reagent. It appears as a white crystalline powder that reacts violently with water to produce phosphoric acid.

The material is indispensable in the production of High-Purity Phosphoric Acid and various phosphate esters. It is a critical dehydrating agent in organic synthesis for the preparation of nitriles and acid anhydrides.

Due to its high reactivity, it is used as a potent desiccant for gases and liquids in industrial laboratories. It is a primary raw material for the manufacturing of specialty glass and agricultural fertilizers.

Phosphorus Pentoxide
  • Chemical Synthesis: Used as a catalyst and dehydrating agent in the production of pharmaceuticals and dyes.
  • Fertilizer Production: Intermediary in the creation of concentrated phosphate fertilizers and animal feed supplements.
  • Asphalt Modification: Used to improve the high-temperature performance and aging resistance of industrial bitumen.

Classified as Corrosive (Category 1A) and reacts Violently with Water. Causes severe burns. Must be handled with Acid-Resistant Suits, Full-Face Shields, and Chemical Gloves.
