Polypropylene
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Polypropylene (PP) is a versatile Thermoplastic Polymer known for its exceptional chemical resistance and high melting point. It is supplied in Homopolymer and Copolymer Grades, offering a balanced combination of stiffness and impact strength.
This material is uniquely characterized by its Living Hinge capability, allowing for integrated closures that can be flexed repeatedly without failure. It possesses low density and high fatigue resistance, making it an ideal choice for lightweight industrial parts.
PP is highly resistant to organic solvents and degreasing agents, making it indispensable for chemical storage and the Automotive sector. Its superior moisture barrier properties also make it a primary choice for high-performance packaging.
APPLICATIONS
- Automotive Components: Used for bumpers, battery cases, and interior trim where heat resistance and low weight are critical.
- Flexible Packaging: Utilized in biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) films for food wraps, labels, and stationary
- Textile Fibers: Spun into fibers for non-woven fabrics, industrial ropes, and durable outdoor carpets.
SAFETY & RISKS
Inert in solid form. High Temperature Processing may generate irritating vapors; ensure Local Ventilation. Use Heat-Resistant PPE to prevent burns during extrusion or molding.
