Dipropylene Glycol n-Butyl Ether (DPnB) is a slow-evaporating glycol ether solvent. It features a unique balance of hydrophilic and hydrophobic properties, making it an excellent coupling agent.

This Technical Grade solvent is highly effective at reducing surface tension and promoting film formation in water-based coatings. It is known for its low toxicity and high flash point compared to lighter ethers.

In cleaning formulations, it provides superior grease-cutting ability and soil removal. Its stability and solubility profile make it a preferred choice for high-performance architectural and industrial coatings.

Dipropylene Glycol n-Butyl Ether
  • Coalescing Aid: Promotes film formation and improves finish quality in water-dispersed architectural paints.
  • Hard Surface Cleaners: Effective solvent for removing oils, waxes, and heavy greases in industrial degreasers.
  • Inks & Dyes: Used as a high-boiling solvent to control drying rates in printing processes.

Not classified as hazardous under GHS for most jurisdictions. Recommended use of nitrile gloves and safety glasses to prevent minor skin irritation from prolonged contact.
