Aspartame (C₁₄H₁₈N₂O₅) is a dipeptide sweetener composed of L-aspartic acid and L-phenylalanine methyl ester. It offers sweetness approximately 200 times greater than sucrose.

Used in low-calorie beverages, confectionery, and table-top sweeteners, providing sugar-like flavor without bitterness. Stable in dry form but hydrolyzes in aqueous solutions.

Safe within established ADI limits; unsuitable for individuals with phenylketonuria. Avoid excessive heat and moisture to prevent degradation.

Foil-lined bags or fiber drums with desiccants; store cool, dry, and sealed from air exposure.
