Used as a fixative in perfumery, a solvent for cellulose derivatives, and an acaricide in topical medications. It is also incorporated into plasticizers and specialty coatings.

Low toxicity but may cause mild skin irritation. Handle with gloves and avoid prolonged exposure to heat and light.

Supplied in 200 kg HDPE or steel drums. Store tightly closed in cool, dry, well-ventilated areas away from oxidizing agents.
