Used as a solvent in polymer and pharmaceutical synthesis, in RNA denaturation, and as an intermediate in formic acid derivatives. Also used in paper and textile processing.

Toxic by skin absorption and inhalation; suspected teratogen. Handle in closed systems with gloves and ventilation.

Delivered in 200 kg steel drums or IBC tanks. Store in cool, dry areas away from heat and oxidants.
