Calcium Stearate is a metallic soap produced through the reaction of stearic acid and lime, offered in Fine Powder and Granular forms. It is characterized by its hydrophobic properties and excellent internal/external lubrication capabilities in polymer processing.

This Technical Grade additive acts as a highly effective acid scavenger, neutralizing catalyst residues in polyolefin production to prevent equipment corrosion. Its high melting point and heat stability make it a staple in high-temperature extrusion and molding.

Beyond plastics, it functions as a Water Repellent in construction materials, significantly reducing water absorption in mortars and concrete. The material is non-toxic and complies with various regulatory standards for indirect food contact applications.

Calcium Stearate

  • Polymer Processing: Serves as an Internal Lubricant and acid scavenger in PVC, PE, and PP to improve melt flow and surface finish.
  • Construction Chemicals: Integrated into cementitious systems as a Hydrophobic Agent to provide integral waterproofing for masonry and mortars.
  • Paper Coating: Utilized as a lubricant in paper coating formulations to prevent cracking and improve the surface gloss of finished paper.

Low toxicity profile; however, excessive dust can form explosive mixtures with air. Ensure proper Dust Explosion Proofing and wear Gloves and Safety Glasses. Hazard Classifications: Non-hazardous for transport.

Supplied in 20 kg or 25 kg PE-lined Paper Bags and 500 kg–1000 kg Jumbo Bags.
