Hydroxyphosphonoacetic acid (C₂H₅O₆P) is an organophosphorus compound known for its excellent scale inhibition and chelating properties. It is a colorless to pale-yellow liquid soluble in water and stable under various pH conditions.
Hydroxyphosphonoacetic Acid
Widely used in industrial water treatment, circulating cooling systems, and oilfield scale control. It effectively prevents calcium carbonate and calcium sulfate deposition. Also serves as a corrosion inhibitor in metalworking and detergents.
Low toxicity but corrosive in concentrated form. Avoid contact with skin and eyes and ensure local exhaust ventilation during handling.
Supplied in 30 kg plastic drums or 250 kg IBC tanks. Store sealed in cool, dry, and well-ventilated areas away from strong oxidizers and alkalis.
