Sodium isopropyl xanthate (SIPX), also proxan-sodium, is a pale yellow powder with formula C4H7NaOS2, molecular weight 158.22 g/mol. Density 1.0-1.2 g/cm³, decomposes at high temperatures; soluble in water (300 g/L), pH 7-9 in solution. Forms chelates with metals; synthesized from isopropanol, CS2, and NaOH. Used as a selective collector in mining.

In alkaline flotation for copper, lead, precious metals, and sulfidized oxides; typical dosage 15-150 g/t ore in rougher/scavenger stages.
Skin/eye irritant; decomposes in acids. Combustible; avoid acids/oxidizers. Handle with gloves; UN3342, Hazard Class 4.2.
In 25kg bags or iron drums, airtight to preserve stability. Professional transport required.
