Sodium Sulfate (CAS 7757-82-6), also known as Glauber's salt, is an inorganic salt that appears as a white crystalline powder and frequently occurs in its decahydrate form; it is used in textile dyeing, paper pulping, detergents, water treatment and pharmaceutical laxative preparations. Density 2.66 g/cm³, melting point 884°C; highly soluble in water (up to 139 g/L at 20°C), hygroscopic with neutral pH. Produced from natural deposits or as a byproduct of chemical processes.

Applications
Used in detergents as fillers, glass manufacturing, paper pulping, textiles dyeing, water treatment, and as a laxative in pharmaceuticals.
Safety & Risks
Low toxicity but dust irritates eyes, skin, respiratory tract; ingestion causes gastrointestinal upset. Non-flammable; avoid strong acids; use PPE.
