Surfactants
Surfactants are grouped by charge because formulators select them that way. Anionics for detergents and shampoos include LABSA, Alpha Olefin Sulfonate, Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate, Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate, Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate and Sodium Alkane Sulfonate (SAS); amphoterics include Cocamidopropyl Betaine and Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate; non-ionics include Cocamide DEA, Lauryl Glucoside, Lauryldimethylamine Oxide and the polysorbates Polysorbate 60, Polysorbate 80 and Polysorbate 85.
Food and cosmetic emulsifiers in this category include Glyceryl Monostearate, Sorbitan Monooleate, Sorbitan Monostearate, PGPR, Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate and Vitamin E Tocofersolan (TPGS); cationics such as Cetyltrimethyl Ammonium Chloride and Cetrimide serve conditioners and disinfectants, and Sodium Lignosulfonate and Sodium Naphthalene Sulfonate act as dispersants in concrete and agrochemical formulations.
