Sodium thiocyanate is a white crystalline powder with formula NaSCN and molecular weight 81.07 g/mol. Density 1.74 g/cm³, melting point 287°C; highly soluble in water (up to 1390 g/L at 21°C), deliquescent. Produced by reacting sodium cyanide with sulfur.

Used in fiber spinning solvents, chemical analysis, photography, pharmaceuticals as hypotensive agents, and herbicides.
Harmful if swallowed, skin contact, inhaled; causes eye damage. Avoid acids; Hazard Class 6.1; use PPE.
In 25kg bags or drums; rinse for recycling or puncture for disposal per guidelines.
