Strontium carbonate is a milky white free-flowing powder with formula SrCO3 and molecular weight 147.63 g/mol. It has a density of 3.7 g/cm³, melting point 1494°C (decomposes), and is sparingly soluble in water (0.011 g/L) but soluble in acids. Non-hygroscopic, odorless, and stable under ambient conditions; produced from celestite ore.

Strontium Carbonate

Used in glass for cathode ray tubes, colorants in fireworks, phosphors, ceramics as flux, and in pyrotechnics for red flames; also in metallurgy and electronics.

Low toxicity but dust irritates eyes and respiratory tract; ingestion may cause gastrointestinal issues. Nonflammable; avoid strong acids which release CO2. Use PPE and ventilation.

In 25kg bags or fiber drums; store in cool, dry areas; offer rinsed containers for recycling or incinerate with flue gas scrubbing.
