Tocopheryl acetate, also known as vitamin E acetate, is a colorless to yellow viscous oily liquid with the formula C31H52O3 and molecular weight 472.74 g/mol. It has a density of 0.96 g/cm³, boiling point 363°C, flash point 210°C, refractive index 1.495-1.497. Insoluble in water, soluble in organic solvents like acetone and ethanol, it is stable, less susceptible to oxidation than tocopherol, and produced by esterification of alpha-tocopherol with acetic acid.

Used as antioxidant in cosmetics for skin protection; in pharmaceuticals for wound healing; in food as preservative for oils; in supplements for immune support; in animal feed for reproduction; in plastics as stabilizer.

Low toxicity but may cause contact dermatitis or eye irritation; combustible at high temperatures. Avoid strong oxidizers; stable under normal conditions. Use PPE; ventilate; monitor for allergic reactions in sensitive individuals.
