Vitex extract, derived from Vitex agnus-castus berries, is a brown powder or liquid with active compounds like casticin and vitexin. It has a characteristic herbal odor, soluble in ethanol and water, standardized to 0.5-5% agnusides or 0.6% amentoflavone. Density around 1.2 g/cm³, pH 4-6 in solution; produced by solvent extraction or supercritical CO2, used for hormonal balance in supplements.
