Dimethylformamide (C₃H₇NO) is a polar aprotic solvent with excellent solvency for polymers and resins. It is colorless, hygroscopic, and has a mild amine-like odor.

Used in synthetic fiber spinning (acrylic), polyurethane coatings, and pharmaceutical synthesis. Serves as a reaction medium in peptide coupling and catalyst preparation.
Toxic by inhalation and absorption; may cause liver damage with prolonged exposure. Use under ventilation and closed systems with nitrile gloves.
Delivered in 200 kg drums or ISO tanks. Store under nitrogen, away from moisture and oxidizers.
