Cetearyl Alcohol (CAS 67762-27-0) is a white to off-white waxy solid made up of cetyl and stearyl fatty alcohols, supplied as plates, flakes or granules and used as an emulsifier and thickener in cosmetic creams and lotions, hair conditioners, body washes and pharmaceutical ointments. Melting point around 50°C, insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol and oils; produced from fatty acids.
