Used in detergents as cleaner and foamer; in biochemistry for protein denaturation; in cosmetics for shampoos; in pharmaceuticals and textiles as emulsifiers.
Irritates skin, eyes, and lungs; may cause pulmonary sensitization. Biodegradable but harmful to aquatic life long-term. Hazard Class 4.1; use PPE.
