Potassium iodate is a white crystalline oxidizer with strong stability and high iodine content (~59%). It dissolves in water to yield mildly acidic solutions.

Potassium Iodate

Used in table salt iodization to prevent iodine deficiency disorders. Also serves as an oxidizing agent in analytical chemistry, dough conditioning, and photographic processing. In pharmaceuticals, it is utilized for controlled iodine supplementation.

Oxidizing and mildly irritating to skin and eyes; contact with combustible materials should be avoided. Handle under dry, ventilated conditions.

Supplied in 25 kg PE-lined drums or multilayer paper bags. Store in a cool, dark, dry area away from acids, organics, and reducing agents.
