Vanadium Oxide Powder
Vanadium oxide powder, commonly vanadium(V) oxide or V2O5, is a yellow-orange to brown crystalline powder with molecular weight 181.88 g/mol. It has a density of 3.36 g/cm³, melting point 690°C, and is slightly soluble in water (0.7 g/L), soluble in acids and alkalis. Toxic and oxidizing, it decomposes above 700°C and is produced by roasting vanadium ores.
Vanadium Oxide Powder
Used as a catalyst in sulfuric acid production, pigment in ceramics and glass, oxidizing agent in chemical reactions, additive in batteries and alloys, and in pollution control for NOx reduction; also in electronics for thin films.
Toxic by inhalation and ingestion, causes severe irritation to eyes, skin, and lungs; suspected carcinogen and mutagen. Strong oxidizer, fire risk with combustibles; decomposes to toxic fumes. Hazard Class 6.1; use PPE, avoid dust, ventilate well.
Packaged in 25kg bags or fiber drums with secure closures; store in tightly closed containers in cool, dry places per Carl Roth SDS recommendations.
