Ethylhexyl palmitate (C₂₄H₄₈O₂) is an ester of 2-ethylhexanol and palmitic acid. It appears as a clear, colorless liquid with excellent spreading properties and a dry, silky skin feel.
Ethylhexyl Palmitate
Used widely in cosmetics and personal care formulations as an emollient, solvent, and lubricant. It improves texture in creams, sunscreens, and makeup products, and serves as a substitute for silicones in “natural” formulations.
Considered safe and non-irritating; biodegradable and stable under normal conditions. Avoid contamination with oxidizers.
Supplied in 180–200 kg HDPE drums or IBC tanks. Store cool, dry, and sealed to prevent oxidation and hydrolysis.
