Used heavily in glass production; as a builder in detergent and cleaning formulations; in chemical synthesis for sodium-based compounds; in metallurgy as a flux; in water treatment for pH adjustment; and in pulp, textiles, and soap manufacturing. Favoured where controlled particle size aids automated dosing.
Irritant to eyes, skin, and respiratory system. Use dust control and PPE. Stable under normal conditions but reacts strongly with acids, releasing CO₂. Maintain dry storage to avoid caking.
Supplied in 50 kg sacks or 1000 kg FIBCs with PE liners. Store on pallets in dry, covered areas with minimal humidity exposure.
