Hypophosphorous acid is a colorless, oily liquid and a powerful reducing agent. It is moderately strong, stable in solution, and soluble in water and alcohols.

Hypophosphorous Acid

Used as a reducing agent in electroless nickel plating, polymerization inhibitors, and pharmaceutical synthesis. Also employed in the production of phosphinate salts and as a bleaching agent in textiles.

Corrosive and may release phosphine gas upon heating or contact with oxidizers. Use acid-resistant protective equipment and store under proper ventilation.

Supplied in 25–250 kg HDPE drums or IBC tanks. Store cool, dry, and away from strong oxidizing agents and metals.
