Sulfamic acid is a white crystalline solid with formula H3NO3S and molecular weight 97.09 g/mol. It has a density of 2.1 g/cm³, melting point 205°C (decomposes), and is moderately soluble in water. Odorless, non-hygroscopic, and acts as a strong acid; produced from urea and fuming sulfuric acid.

Applications

Used in dyes synthesis, cleaning agents for descaling, herbicides, and as a flame retardant; also in electroplating and paper processing.
