Applications

Ammonia is primarily used for producing urea, ammonium nitrate, and other nitrogen fertilizers. It also functions as a refrigerant in industrial cooling systems, a pH adjuster, and a feedstock for nitric acid and amines. In water treatment and textiles, it aids in neutralization and cleaning processes.

Safety & Risks

Toxic and corrosive gas; contact with eyes or skin causes burns. Inhalation can be fatal at high concentrations. Use only in closed systems with ventilation, gas detection, and PPE.

Packaging

Delivered as anhydrous liquid in pressurized cylinders or tanks, or as aqueous ammonia in HDPE drums. Store in cool, isolated areas with secondary containment.
