Applications
Used in pulp and paper for delignification; in soap production for fat hydrolysis; in water treatment for pH elevation; in textile mercerization for cotton strengthening; and in petroleum refining for desulfurization in large-scale facilities.
Safety & Risks
Causes severe burns on contact with skin or eyes; inhalation of mists leads to lung damage. High reactivity with acids produces heat; use full PPE including face shields; emergency neutralization with vinegar required.
Packaging
