Bay leaf oil, from Pimenta racemosa leaves, is a yellow to brown liquid with density 0.9-0.95 g/cm³, refractive index 1.472-1.476, boiling range 220-250°C, flash point >60°C. Soluble in alcohol, insoluble in water; herbal odor, composed of eugenol (42-56%), myrcene (20-30%), chavicol (8-13%); obtained by steam distillation.

Bay Leaf Oil

Used in perfumery for aftershave and soaps; food flavoring for meats; cosmetics for antiseptics; pharmaceuticals for antimicrobial; aromatherapy for digestion; in research for phenol properties.

Irritant to skin/eyes; may cause sensitization. Combustible; avoid ingestion. Stable; use PPE; low toxicity but monitor for allergies.

Supplied in 25kg aluminum drums or 1kg glass bottles; store cool and dark per ChemicalBook FCC standards.
