D-Tagatose (C₆H₁₂O₆) is a naturally occurring ketohexose sugar with around 90% the sweetness of sucrose but significantly lower caloric value. It crystallizes as a white powder with high stability under moderate processing conditions.

D-Tagatose

Used as a low-calorie sweetener in foods, beverages, and nutraceutical formulations. It promotes prebiotic effects and supports dental and glycemic health. Also used in pharmaceutical excipients and fermentation media.

Generally recognized as safe (GRAS). Excessive intake may cause mild gastrointestinal discomfort. Avoid high-humidity storage to prevent clumping.
