D-Tagatose (C₆H₁₂O₆) is a naturally occurring ketohexose sugar with around 90% the sweetness of sucrose but significantly lower caloric value. It crystallizes as a white powder with high stability under moderate processing conditions.

APPLICATIONS
Used as a low-calorie sweetener in foods, beverages, and nutraceutical formulations. It promotes prebiotic effects and supports dental and glycemic health. Also used in pharmaceutical excipients and fermentation media.
