Dimethicone is a high-performance silicone polymer known for its exceptional spreadability and protective properties. Our Cosmetic Grade fluids are available in various viscosities to provide a smooth, silky feel to topical formulations.
This polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) acts as a superior skin protectant, forming a non-greasy breathable barrier that prevents transepidermal water loss. In hair care, it provides brilliant shine and significantly reduces flyaways and friction.
In the automotive and industrial sectors, it functions as a potent antifoaming agent and lubricant. It maintains its physical properties across a wide temperature range and is highly resistant to oxidation and chemical degradation.
APPLICATIONS
- Skin Conditioning: Primary ingredient in “oil-free” moisturizers and sunscreens to provide a luxurious, dry-touch finish.
- Hair Smoothing: Used in serums and conditioners to coat the hair shaft, providing detangling and heat protection.
- Industrial Antifoam: Effective at breaking bubbles in petroleum processing, textile dyeing, and detergent manufacturing.
