Ethylene Distearamide
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Ethylene Distearamide (EBS) is a high-performance Technical Grade synthetic wax and processing aid. It is a white to off-white powder or bead, characterized by a high melting point and excellent lubricating properties.
In the plastics industry, EBS serves as both an internal and external lubricant, improving the flow and mold release of various resins like PVC and ABS. It helps prevent polymer sticking and reduces surface friction during high-speed extrusion.
Beyond plastics, it is utilized as a dispersing agent for pigments in masterbatches and as a defoamer in textile processing. It provides superior scratch resistance and surface gloss to finished rubber and plastic products.
APPLICATIONS
- Plastic Processing: Enhances the flow of thermoplastic resins and prevents adhesion to metal molds during injection molding.
- Pigment Dispersion: Improves the wetting and distribution of pigments in polymer color concentrates.
- Rubber Compounding: Acts as a processing aid and surface release agent to prevent rubber sheets from sticking together.
SAFETY & RISKS
Considered Non-Hazardous for general handling but can form Explosive Dust Clouds in air. Use Dust Masks and Anti-Static Equipment. Store in a cool, ventilated area away from ignition sources.
